Dime Defense is a boutique sports marketing and consulting firm committed to upholding the integrity of our clients on and off the field.
Our mission is to help current and former professional athletes fulfill
their philanthropic passions whether it is preventing childhood obesity, supporting cancer awareness, protecting the environment or helping underprivileged youth.
We work closely with professional athletes and their parents, foundation executive directors or their agents with the common goal of giving back to athletes' communities and causes. It really does take a team -
and with Dime Defense as a part of yours, you will succeed.

Dime Defense provides clients with a range of services that include event planning, nonprofit development, public relations and sponsorships.
We also create innovative promotional strategies and marketing solutions for our corporate clients seeking to partner with athletes to increase brand awareness and drive sales. We provide opportunities for product and service placement, athlete appearances and bookings, as well as marketing communications.

Keona Humphries
Founder/Marketing Director
Keona is known as the "Petite Powerhouse" among colleagues, not just
for her stature and strength of conviction - but for her big ideas and moxie.
She founded Dime Defense in 2009 with a mission of helping professional athletes give back to their communities through cause-related events.
Her vision is that "every athlete can be a champion in the community."
Keona has more than a decade of combined experience in media
communication, marketing, advertising and event planning. Her proven
success as a communicator and leader derives from professional roles
with the nonprofit cooperative Associated Press and Fortune 500 companies including Fox, CNN and Macy's.
As a journalist, Keona has covered major entertainment, sporting and news events. She received a certificate of recognition from the National Academy
of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) for contributions to CNN's
September 11th team coverage.
Keona holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism with Political Science and Marketing minors from the University of Alabama. While at the Capstone,
she was an Athletic Hostess and pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
EVENT PLANNING
Dime Defense can take your event to the next level with our creativity
and professionalism. We take our pro client's basic concept and put the
"Dime D" spin on it.
You want a barbecue in the park for the offseason?
Dime Defense will organize a signature festival to be held in partnership
with a local children's nonprofit complete with sponsored family entertainment,
food and drinks.
You want to give away turkeys to the needy for the holidays?
Dime Defense will set up a hunger awareness and job creation holiday event
co-sponsored by a retail grocer. Turkeys will be provided to the disadvantaged
and unemployed will get advice through a partnership with local employment agencies (We executed this successful event for a Super Bowl Champion!) .
From concept to completion, Dime Defense will deliver exceptional social,
cause-related or corporate events for our clients. Galas. Seminars.
Sports camps and clinics. Nightlife parties. Summer Soirees.
Our event planners are extremely efficient and inventive and will achieve
results under the tightest of deadlines and budgets. They'll make sure your
event is unique, meticulous in detail and goes off seamlessly.

NONPROFIT DEVELOPMENT
Every athlete can be a champion in the community. It starts
with an athlete's simple idea to help others. Maybe, it's supporting grandparents who raise their grandchildren. Perhaps, it's finding homes for abandoned pets.
Dime Defense can turn your idea and your passion into
a machine for change through a viable, nonprofit.
We will consult with you on how to strategically plan for
your nonprofit, and we'll provide you with the resources and professional partners to legally start the process. Once the nonprofit is established, our professionals will help manage
all of your foundation's marketing needs and the development of new cause-related programs.
Teamwork is crucial to the success and solvency of your organization. Dime Defense will also help you build on the strengths of your board and even train board members or staff.

Dime Defense can help you reach your fundraising and sponsorship goals with a targeted strategy. On your behalf, we can build partnerships with Fortune 500 corporations, local businesses, community organizations or government agencies that share your values.
Having an event? Tell us your specific needs whether in-kind donations or cash sponsorships. We can develop and write an exceptional sponsorship proposal which will highlight your event, identify marketing inventory and the partnership benefits for potential sponsors.
If you have a nonprofit, we will evaluate the current donor base and the support you are receiving. Our nonprofit professionals will then consult
with you on how to target and recruit new donors and strategic partners.
They will determine the best marketing channels (direct mail, web, social media, etc.) to promote your foundation's mission and solicit donor support.

to have an athlete endorse their product. Athletes - big or small - don't have to be the franchise player to attract quality endorsement opportunities.
Dime Defense views event product placements as implied endorsement deals between athletes and corporate partners. At the events, athletes are representing a business' product (or service) by wearing it, holding it, drinking it or even driving in it.
Event product placement is a good investment for companies that cannot make a long-term marketing commitment with an athlete, but want to expose their products and services within a specific sports industry. We can integrate event product placements as part of a sponsorship or they can be independently negotiated.
For our athlete clients, event product placement is the perfect opportunity to introduce you to businesses which operate outside your home team's market and will put you on the marketing radar of major companies.

TOWNSEND OVERSEES SUCCESSFUL CAMP
Batesville native Deshea Townsend, former Pittsburgh Steeler cornerback, was
in town this weekend and brought many teammates with him. Townsend hosted
his 11th annual Pay It Forward Football (PIFF) and Cheerleading Camp, commandeering
the South Panola Schools for the various events. Along with the camp, was the PIFF health fair

Batesville native and Pittsburgh Steeler, Deshea Townsend is hosting his
10th Annual Pay It Forward Football and Cheerleading Camp this weekend.
Some 1,000 children have pre-registered for the Saturday, May 16 event

In the 33 years he was alive, Derrick Thomas sacked hundreds of quarterbacks,

Arizona Cardinals super star Larry Fitzgerald is bringing a fun filled day of events to the valley. His Double Play Celebrity Softball Game and Comedy Night will be Saturday, April 23, 2011. These special events will be raising money for the Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund and Partners in Malawi.
The softball game presented by Lawns by Les will be held at Salt River Fields. Gates for this event will open at 1:00 and start with an acoustic performance from National Country Music Artist Troy Olsen in the centerfield plaza. Guests with at least a $20 ticket will be admitted to this VIP party at no cost. The remainder of fans can enjoy this incredible musical performance for only $5.
Following the musical performance at 2:00 enjoy professional sports superstars and celebrities in a fun filled and competitive softball game. Others expected to join Larry Fitzgerald are Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, Braylon Edwards, Roddy White, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Greg Jennings and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. More big names to come. Tickets start at $10.00 and can be purchased on-line at www.saltriverfields.com.
The days events will wrap up with the Larry Fitzgerald and Friends After Party on the Wet Deck at W Scottsdale beginning at 10 p.m. Hip hop legend Biz Markie will be the guest deejay from 12 a.m.- 1 a.m. There will be a $20 cover charge.
All proceeds from the events will go to two charities. The Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund is dedicated to Larry Fitzgeralds mother who passed away eight years ago due to breast cancer. As a state worker in Minnesota, Carol worked to help those that were less fortunate. She focused on individuals that were stricken with AIDS, cancer, and other diseases. The Fund specializes in the support of African American women that are diagnosed with breast cancer, the prevention of HIV/AIDS among African American people, and the education of urban youth.
Partners in Malawi was founded in 1999 by Dr. Perry Jansen. His mission was to make a difference in the AIDS pandemic in Africa. Today the Partners in Hope Medical Center, which he founded five years ago, treats 3,000 patients every month, many of them free of charge and has literally saved thousands of lives.
